We are creating the first active facade panel. Like the human skin, but for buildings. A new way to interact with available sustainable resources such as the sun, the air and the sky for the benefit of a controlled interior atmosphere.
Biomimicry
Observation of nature gives us numerous keys on how to improve our way of life. But often, we need first to reach a technological level allowing a feasible synthetic copy of the existing natural solutions.
In our case, the biomimicry of the human skin became possible thanks to recent developments in carbon fibers, sensors and engineering technologies.
Smart Panel is replicating the three layers of the human skin and apply them to the building envelope creating a functional surface interacting with the outside environment.
